Never Alone

Deuteronomy 31:6 - Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

What had sustained Moses during those difficult years as leader of the nation of Israel? It was not his Egyptian education or his own personal strength. In fact, more than once he almost broke under the load and tried to quit. No, Moses was sustained by a promise: “He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee”! It was the promise of the presence of the Lord.

When Moses died, Joshua took over the rule of the nation; and the Lord gave him the same sustaining promise!

Joshua 1:9 - Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Moses needed the promise for carrying his burdens, and Joshua needed the promise for fighting his battles. And the promise worked.

As a person ages, the more burdens they must carry, and the more battles must be fought. But we have the same promises that they trusted. Hebrews 13:5 - Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Jesus told His disciples in the last part of Matthew 28:20, “Lo, I Am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”

As a Christian, you are never alone. No matter what burdens you carry or what battles you must fight, your Savior is at your side to help you. Yield control to Him and let Him accomplish His purpose in and through you.
