Enjoy Being a Christian
It surprises many Christians to discover that the word “enjoy” is found in the Bible. It has been said by someone, “Most Christians “endure” the Christian life; they don’t really “enjoy” it. But how can you help but enjoy being a Christian when you realize how rich you are in Christ?
We learn of the riches of His goodness in Romans 2:4 – “Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?” The psalmist sings “For the Lord is good,” in Psalm 100:5. He is good, and He demonstrates His goodness in so many ways. He provides for our needs, He gives the sunshine and the rain, He gives the ability to work and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Too many Christians forget the goodness of the Lord and take His blessings for granted.
We also learn of “the riches of His grace,” in Ephesians 1:7. God in His grace meets every spiritual need you may have. He is “the God of all grace,” in I Peter 5:10, and He gives “more grace,” in James 4:6. He promises, “My grace is sufficient,” in II Corinthians 12:9.
Don’t forget what we learn in Philippians 4:19 - But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
God wants you to enjoy the “true riches,” of Heaven (Luke 16:11) and not the passing riches of this world. Enjoy them today!
