The Work of the Word

2Timothy 3:16 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

 

God’s Word is both inspired and profitable for all the ways the Lord wants to work in your life. He works through Scripture to;

Teach – Even if there is no one else around to instruct you, God reveals Himself to you through Scripture---His ways, how to follow Him, and how to honor Him in your choices. He also teaches you about yourself, others, how to have healthy relationships, and how to handle every situation in life.

Reprove – Through the Bible, God exposes the attitudes, beliefs, and habits that are undermining your well-being and relationship with Christ so you can change course (John 8:32). 

Correct – Through the Word, God also helps you get on the right path, restores you, improves your life and character, and makes you complete as His child.

Train in righteousness – Finally, through Scripture, God trains you by renewing your mind, deepening your faith, healing your most profound strongholds, and transforming you into the likeness of Christ. The work of God through the Word is powerful because, ultimately, He is preparing you for all He will do through you.
