God the Ruler of All
II Chronicles 20:6
This country we call home exists by God’s permission and power. The leaders of this world can have their G8 meetings and their feelings of power, but in the final analysis, we know God is in control of all things.
Proverbs 21:1, “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: He turneth it whithersoever He will.” The stubborn will of the most powerful politician can be directed by God as easily as a farmer reroutes a shallow canal on his farm.
The realization that God is still in charge ought to cause people everywhere to humble themselves under the Almighty Hand of God, that realization ought to cause us to fall on our faces in prayer, to seek His face, and to turn from our wicked ways.
Know this, if the realization that God is in charge causes us to do these things, we can be sure according to II Chronicles 7:14 that God will hear from heaven, will forgive our sin, and we pray that He will heal our land.
