Putting God First
Mark 12:30 - And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Have you ever thought about what it means to put God first. There are some things about God’s will that we do not have to search for, wait for, or even strive for.
When we put God first as we are told to in the Ten Commandments and in the Sermon on the Mount all these other things will work out for us.
Think about, with me, the first verse of the Bible, Genesis 1:1 – “In the beginning God.” God is eternal, He has always been, and He teaches us to put Him first. Jesus said it in Matthew 6:33 - But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
When we put God first in our relationships, our marriage, our families, our friends, and our finances He will add all these things to us.
Putting God first involves submitting to His Will, His Ways, His Worship, and His Work. How are you doing in this area of your life?
