Walk Upright
Proverbs 2:7 - He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
We are taught here that sound wisdom comes from the Lord. We are told in James 1:5 - If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
So, how do you know when you have sound wisdom? We read in Proverbs 9:10 - The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
The word fear in that verse means “reverence.” As we learn more about our Heavenly Father, that He is All-knowing, All-powerful, and an All-present God, then we reverence Him.
Then we learn in Proverbs 8:13 - The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
That reverence for God produces a hate for evil, pride, arrogancy, the evil way and a perverse mouth.
Sound wisdom comes from Walking Upright, knowing and practicing the Truths in the Word of God.
