Warfare

Ephesians 6:12 - For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Do you ever wonder why there is so much chaos and confusion in the world today? When we read and study the Word of God, we understand that there is a battle going on all around us and sometimes within us. The Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 7:5 - For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.

This is a spiritual warfare that is taking place. Our enemy, Satan, wants us to be discouraged, defeated, and angry. The natural reaction is to focus the frustrations or anger on others or on situations, or on ourselves. But God wants us to realize the focus should be on things not seen, principalities, powers, and spiritual wickedness in high places. Focus on the source so that we can respond accordingly.

We learn in 1 Peter 5:8-9 - Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

We can win these battles by putting our trust in God to handle whatever the enemy throws our way. Then, as the Bible teaches, “Having done all stand on the Truth of the Word of God!
