Warfare Prayer

Ephesians 6:13 - Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

As believers, we face a real adversary and spiritual warfare that can affect us in untold ways. Ephesians 6:12 confirms, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Of course, to do battle in a spiritual war, you have to fight with spiritual armaments such as we see in the armor of God. And one of the greatest weapons is prayer.

Through prayer, God prepares you to resist the devil, sin, and temptation. How? First, He helps you avoid the traps and the pitfalls the enemy sets for you. Second, the Lord identifies the triggers the enemy uses to entice you to sin and uproots them. Third, God builds up your spiritual strength and defenses to oppose the Devil. Finally, the Lord defends you by sending the shield of Scripture to mind when a temptation arises.

The point is, through prayer, God enables you to use the spiritual arsenal He’s given you and leads you to victory. So don’t miss what He is saying. Fight your battles ---both earthly and spiritual ---on your knees. Because when you do, you win every time.
