Reacting or Responding

Ephesians 5:15 - See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Ephesians 5:16 - Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Ephesians 5:17 - Wherefore be ye not unwise but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

In the above verses we are being cautioned to watch carefully how we walk. Again, we see walk is used indicating how we live.

We can allow our emotions to dictate whether we react or respond, or we can ask the Lord Jesus Christ to help us to respond wisely.

Most people react to their circumstances, allowing their emotions to rule their lives, and then tend to blame someone else for their reaction. When this happens, the results are deeper problems.

This is why we are commanded in Proverbs 3:5 - Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Proverbs 3:6 - In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

When we acknowledge God as the All-powerful, All-present, All-knowing God that He is and trust Him We   can experience God’s purpose and plan for our lives.

To acknowledge God means to take a moment to pray when situations arise. Ask God what to do, then look for ways to honor and glorify God.
