God with Us
Matthew 1:23 – “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
Throughout Scripture there are many names for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Close to 200 different names or titles for Jesus.
One time in the New Testament and 2 times in the Old, there is a name given, but never used, that’s the one I want to teach about today.
Emmanuel – “1 time” Immanuel – “2 times”
John 14:17 - Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 8:31 - What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
John 14:1 - Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
John 14:2 - In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:3 - And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
