Freely and Fully Forgiven

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.  Psalm 103:12

If you could know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God had completely forgiven you, what reason would you have to keep feeling guilty? Absolutely none.

Well, God offers you exactly that: complete and total forgiveness, no matter what you have done. Jesus willingly took your sins and mine upon Himself, and He paid the penalty we deserved. The Bible puts it this way: "For He made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Corinthians 5:21).

We don't need to wonder if we've been forgiven; we don't need to carry around a burden of guilt. If memories from the past return, immediately remind yourself of the truth of 1 John 1:9--"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Then thank God for forgiving you, freely and fully, because of Christ's sacrifice for you.
