The Love of Jesus
Romans 12:18 - If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Is there someone you know that no matter what you do, they continue to dislike you or may even talk bad about you to others? As believers, how should we respond?
We should remind ourselves that there were people who rejected Jesus. Jesus went about doing good, healing the sick, restoring sight to the blind, and even raising the dead, but still there were those who treated Him badly.
What should we learn from the way Jesus was treated? We should learn not to take it personally. If the very Son of God had detractors, then as we try to conform to the image of Christ, we certainly will have those who do not like us and will talk bad about us.
We should also learn that it is never right to be cruel to them, even though they are unkind to you. In conforming to Jesus, we must represent Him in His forgiving Spirit, also. Because our responsibility as believers is to honor God in all that we do.
Do you love like Jesus loves?
