Heaven is Heaven because of the Things that are There

 

Joy - Luke 15:10 - Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. 

Rest - Revelation 14:13 - And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. 

Peace - Luke 16:25 - But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 

Righteousness - 2Peter 3:13 - Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 

Service - Revelation 7:15 - Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 

An Accounting - Romans 14:12 - So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 

Reward or Loss - 1Corinthians 3:12 - Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 

1Corinthians 3:13 - Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 

1Corinthians 3:14 - If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 

1Corinthians 3:15 - If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Inheritance - 1Peter 1:3 - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 

1Peter 1:4 - To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you.

 

Heaven will be Heaven because of Who will be there, the things that will be there and the things that will not be there.
