A Sure Foundation

 

2 Timothy 2:19 - Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

We have a sure foundation in Jesus Christ from the Word of God by the Holy Spirit. Let’s look at the Sure Foundation and what it means for us as believers.

  1. Sure Stability – We have a sure foundation in Christ for stability. We read in Isaiah 28:16 - Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. 
  2. Sure Savior for Security – We read in Isaiah 22:23 - And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house. 
  3. Sure Word for Fulfillment – We read in 2 Peter 1:19 - We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 
  4. Sure Anchor for Steadfastness – We learn in Hebrews 6:19 - Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; 

In a world of chaos and confusion we have so much we can be sure of, and these truths are found in God’s Holy Word.
