At Home as a Second Mile Christian

 

In God’s Word He has given us specific instructions on how to have a successful family life.

We have instructions for husbands in Ephesians 5:25 - Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 

Also in Colossians 3:19 - Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. 

Our Heavenly Father gives instructions to wives in Ephesians 5:22 - Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

And again in Colossians 3:18 - Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. 

Husbands and wives both are instructed in Ephesians 5:21 - Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. 

Fathers are instructed in Ephesians 6:4 - And, ye fathers provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. 

Children are instructed in Colossians 3:20 - Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. 

Also, in Ephesians 6:1-3 – “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 

Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) 

That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.”

 

We can be second mile Christians at home, if we will follow the principles taught in the Word of God. We have the promise in Jeremiah 29:11-13 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 

Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
