The Blood of Christ

Hebrews 9:22 - And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Let’s talk about what the blood of Christ does.

Redeems you and I – Roman 3:24, “Being justified freely by His grace through the  redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.” Thank God I have been redeemed by the precious blood of Christ.

Reestablishes our relationship with God – Ephesians 2:13, 16 – “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ, verse 16, And that He might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby.” Not only have you and I as believers been redeemed, we have been reconciled, the statement has been balanced by the blood of Jesus, not only has it been balanced, He has wiped mine and your debt clean! Hallelujah, Glory to God!

Justifies you and I – Romans 5:9 – “Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.” Not only has His blood REDEEMED us and RECONCILED us, we see here that the blood of Christ has JUSTIFIED us. Do you know what that means? I think if we actually comprehended the depth and the breadth of that statement we all would be rejoicing and shouting to God be the Glory both now and forever. To be justified means that we have been made, “JUST AS IF WE HAD NEVER SINNED!” JUSTIFIED before the TRUE and the LIVING GOD!

Makes Peace – Colossians 1:20 - And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

As the old hymnal says, “There is power, power, wonder working power in the precious blood of the Lamb!”
