What is the Christian Life? Spirit Filled
Acts 11:25 - Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:
Acts 11:26 - And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And
it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church,
and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in
Antioch.
The disciples were called Christians at Antioch because they were acting like
Christ. Previously we learned the Christian life is a life of service. We learn
in Romans 6:16 - Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to
obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of
obedience unto righteousness?
All of us are servants, either to sin unto death or obedience unto
righteousness. An effective servant must practice self-denial and this person
will experience the satisfaction that comes with being right with God.
The great truth about the Christian life is that there is always more, more to
learn and more to grow.
Ephesians 5:17 - Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of
the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:18 - And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with
the Spirit;
Romans 12:1 - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye
present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is
your reasonable service.
Romans 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by
the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
As believers we must be Spirit filled to understand what the good,
acceptable, and perfect will of God is.
