Christ Works Through You
Colossians 1:27 - To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Be careful not to fall into the trap of thinking you are doing anything for the Lord. The truth is we can never live the Christian life or do the Lord’s work through our own strength or abilities.
You remind yourself what God teaches us in Isaiah 42:8 - I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
God wants to and will work through believers as we yield ourselves to Him realizing He is the One who will receive the glory and honor for whatever is accomplished.
The good news is you were never meant to live the Christian life in your own strength. It is Jesus living through you that enables God to receive glory for the work that only He can do.
As believers Jesus wants you to allow Him, who is “The light of the world, to allow that Light to shine through you that when the work is accomplished, folks won’t look at you, but at Him. That’s the lesson we learn in Matthew 5:16 - Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
