God’s Love is Personal
We have been looking at the Love of God, we have seen that the Scriptures teach us that His love is Great, His love is everlasting, and His love is a sacrificial love. Today let’s look at His love as being personal.
Galatians 2:20 - I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
There are many people today who look at the verse above and talk about wanting to live the “crucified” life. That is not what God is teaching us here through the Apostle Paul. We are not to seek to be crucified with Christ. As believers, we have already been crucified with Him. The principle of living is not by the law which has slain us because it found us guilty.
Now we are to live by faith. So, we put our faith in what? We put our Faith in the Son of God. Understand that the death of Christ was not only paying the penalty for our sins, but it was substitutionary also. He was not only the sacrifice for sin; He was the substitute for all who believe.
Some have said they do not like the term, “Personal Savior.” I believe there is nothing more personal than realizing Jesus died for me. What a blessed thought, He loves me, and He made it possible to renew my relationship with God.
