God’s Mercies
Lamentations 3:22 - It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
Lamentations 3:23 - They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Mercy is defined as compassionate treatment, pity with a desire to help.
Let’s look at what we are taught in the Bible about God’s mercies.
This is illustrated in the Word by David towards King Saul. 1 Samuel 24:10 - Behold, this day thine eyes have seen how that the LORD had delivered thee today into mine hand in the cave: and some bade me kill thee: but mine eye spared thee; and I said, I will not put forth mine hand against my lord; for he is the LORD'S anointed.
2. God’s mercies are tender. Psalm 25:6 - Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
3. God’s mercies are abundant – 1 Peter 1:3 - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1 Peter 1:4 - To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 1 Peter 1:5 - Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Thank your Heavenly Father that His mercies are new every morning, they are tender, and they are abundant.
