When Times Are Tough -2

 

Sometimes the going will be tough, sometimes everything will not go our way, sometimes there will be trouble in our lives.

 

We can study the life of Paul and know that he knows what he is talking about.  II Corinthians 11:22-28

 

So we can be sure that tough times are going to come and when they do we are to look to the Word!

 

Romans 12:21 - Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

 

We want to learn to be “Doers of the Word.”

This is so important when tough times come. If we are going to overcome evil with good, we must do it the following ways.

 

           1.  Study, meditate on, and Obey the Word of God!

 

          2.  Realize the Importance of Service

 

Jesus said in Matthew 20:25-28, …”Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant. Even as the Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister and to give His life a ransom for many.” 

 

When a Pastor thinks he is in control there will be problems, when deacons think they run the church there will be problems, when women think they run the church there will be problems. We are servants here, we are to serve our community, and we are to serve one another! Why, because of our example, Jesus Christ!

 

1 Peter 2:21 - For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
